Is this song really about Elvis? -- lucas

The song is not just about Elvis, but about the cult of celebrity. Kate references Elvis, Citizen Kane and how tabloids fuel the frenzy -- in Elvis' case that he faked his death. I think this song is Kate's sly nod to all the critics who said her career was dead. Now she's come roaring back and from all accounts, this new album may just be the highlight of her career.

I think it's a good song, much better than anything than was on Tori's last dud, The Beekeeper. All the early reviews of the new Kate album, Aerial, say it's a smash. It's two disks and one is a concept album called A Sky of Honey, which is apparently in the vein of The Ninth Wave side of Hounds of Love. King of the Mountain sounds like nothing else out there right now, and that alone puts Kate head and shoulders above the rest.

Collin,

Have you really even listened to anything on the Beekeeper? There are much better songs on that album than this dud of a single. I just hope the rest of the material doesn't sound so "I've been smoking A LOT and I can't sing anymore."

Kate stopped smoking a decade ago. If you're going to attempt to insult her, at least be factual. Sorry, The Beekeeper was crap. Tori hasn't had a good album since Boys For Pele. Maybe she should take 12 years off and come back with another decent record.
