John McCain on Saturday Night Live

John McCain showed up for the opening sketch on Saturday Night Live last night. I have to begrudgingly admit this was pretty damn funny. Since the McCain campaign couldn't afford a half-hour spot like Obama, in this skit they've bought time on home shopping channel, QVC. Tina Fey, once again, was spot on as Sarah Palin. Both McCain and the real Palin (when she appeared on the show a couple of weeks ago) are either too stupid or desperate to realize the hilarious digs being made at them by the show. Or McPalin might actually have a sense of humor. Please note, if you're trying to watch this clip outside of the US, it might not play because of copyright restrictions.

Collin, thanks for posting this...talk about hilarious!
McCain did manage to slip a few little digs in!

The images of the voting queues have been shown a lot here - is it normal to have to wait 3-4 hours to vote or is that just in particular States? Seems crazy - here it's a quick in-out!

Hey Liz. It's not normal to have to wait this long. This is an historic election and pre-election day voting has become a big deal. Here in Georgia, people have waited up to 8 hours to vote. They are expecting polls across the states to be jam-packed on Nov. 4. I'm sure I'll be in line for hours.

I'm glad to see McCain might have a job as a comedian after he loses the race for POTUS. LOL
I thought McCain was hilarious--those crazy expressions that do nothing for him in the political arena, serve him well in comedy!
When Sarah Palin appeared, we laughed AT her. When McCain appeared, I think we laughed "with" him.
The part where he played "Sad Grandpa" (funny, and oddly poignant)as one of his desperate ploys at the end of his campaign (along with "Reverse Maverick", and "Double Maverick")had me howling last night!

McCain is better at comedy than he is at government. I wouldn't vote for him on a dare, but the guy always has had (or at least, in public, given the appearance of having) a decent sense of humor, much better than the incumbent for sure. I'll give him that.

Of course, that doesn't mean he's qualified to be President of my septic tank, much less the U.S. of A.
Anne--agreed!
