National Poetry Month bits

National Poetry Month kicks off today and I'm celebrating by reading fiction (and a poem or two) this afternoon at 3 p.m. at Bound to Be Read Books in East Atlanta Village. I'll be joined by fellow poet and novelist David-Matthew Barnes, so if you happen to be around the city come out and join us. More about the event at this link.

There's a big heapin' help of poetry readings and events happening in Atlanta this month and you can read all about them at Poetry Atlanta. This Tuesday, April 3, at 7:15 p.m.  I'll be hosting Poetry Atlanta Presents... in conjunction with the Georgia Center for the Book at Decatur Library. Our very special guests will be award-winning poets Frank X Walker, Opal Moore, Julie Bloemeke and Karen G. It's going to be fantastic, free evening of poetry. More about the reading at this link.

AWP was just a month or so ago, but if you're planning to submit a panel or event proposal for the 2013 event in Boston, the deadline is May 1. To submit an event proposal, please visit this link. AWP 2013 will be held March 6-9 at the Hynes Convention Center and Sheraton Boston Hotel.

And if you haven't already, don't forget to enter The Big Poetry Giveaway. Details at this link.
