Kate Bush: And Dream of Sheep

Kate Bush has released the filmed clip of "And Dream of Sheep" that was used in Before the Dawn, her 2014 live residency at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The song begins the "Ninth Wave" suite about a woman lost at sea after a shipwreck. Kate recorded the song live floating in a water tank at Pinewood Studios, even getting a touch of hypothermia in the process. The film was projected onto a large oval screen at the Hammersmith and was designed to act as the "reality" of her character floating alone in the freezing sea, while what was happening on the stage was her near-death hallucinations. It was a stunning marriage of film, special effects and live action work. For now, this is the only piece of Before the Dawn we will see as Kate has "archived" the planned DVD. The audio boxed set of Before the Dawn (vinyl, CD and digital)  is out next week in the UK and the following week in the states.
